A project highlighting the oppression and injustices that transgender, non-binary & gender fluid individuals are experiencing in today’s society. As a cisgender woman, it was important for me to gather opinions & experiences from those who don't identify within the gender binary or the gender they were assigned at birth in order to really understand what it is to be trans/non-binary/gender fluid within society today. For this shoot, I was influenced by a non-binary individuals' experience centred around how they were “a bartender for 7 years and was continually misgendered” – implying that pubs and bars aren’t always inclusive and welcoming for non-cisgender people.
