When I was eight, my Mum was diagnosed with breast cancer. My parents had split up at the time, so my brother and I were living between two houses. As a family, we all adjusted well to these changes although, looking back, I struggled a lot as we were no longer together as a four. We would visit Mum in hospital every other evening & during the car journey there and back I would always listen to the album Lungs by Florence + The Machine. It acted as a vessel for which I could release my confusing & conflicting emotions into - and it still continues to be now. This music in particular means a lot to me because, after all my family & I have been through, the Dog Days Are Over. These photos are a visual representation of my relationship with music. They portray both my emotional & mental state throughout these difficult years of my childhood - highlighting the transition from confusion & uncertainty to freedom & complete and utter joy.
